¿Quién fue Javad Tabatabai?
Dr. Javad Tabatabai is the President and CEO of Parvus Corporation and has held leading positions in the aerospace and high-tech industries since 1982. During this time, he has been highly active in several commercial spaceflight-related technology development programs while also piloting his own aircraft. For example, he managed technology development efforts in which new technologies were leveraged to modify and operate production jet aircraft to perform double-duty roles in weather modification and cloud seeding efforts.
Dr. Tabatabai is also the Director of the Center for Civil Space Technologies at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where he leads technology transfer and economic development efforts related to space exploration and commercialization.
Prior to joining Parvus in 2001, Dr. Tabatabai was the CEO and co-founder of MEI Technologies, Inc. (MEIT), a high-tech small business specializing in aerospace engineering, information technology, and software development where he grew the company from two to over 300 employees.
Early in his career, Dr. Tabatabai worked on the Space Shuttle Main Engine at Rocketdyne as a lead engineer. He also spent time at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he worked on the Galileo spacecraft’s power and propulsion system, and at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where he worked on space nuclear power systems.
Dr. Tabatabai has a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southern California, a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville..
