While in college, Alan Hyde used the name 535566 when he played cards with a buddy in a local bar in Dallas. 535566 referred to the three of clubs and its value in poker. The 535566 was an oasis in the heart of the city and soon became the hangout for local musicians.
When Hyde graduated, he moved to Austin and took the name with him. It wasn’t long before he was playing guitar and singing in clubs and festivals around the country.
Hyde has released two albums under the 535566 name, ‘The Oasis Sessions’ (2007) and ‘East of the Sun, West of the Moon’ (2009)..
